How to say Thank you in Japanese, Tokyo vs Osaka

When we show our gratitude,

in our standard Japanese,

we say

“arigatoh gozaimasu”


in a polite way,


and just say



in a casual way.


But when it comes to people in Osaka,

they say

“ookini” or “maido”
